TUCSON – The anticipation for the I-10 and Ina Road interchange is “What’s Driving You Crazy.”
News 4 Tucson viewer Gerald said, “other than “early spring”, does ADOT have an actual target date?”
ADOT said they want to open the interchange as soon as possible, but a couple of bumps in the road are getting in the way.
Construction started in 2017 and getting very close to the road opening.
News 4 Tucson’s Allie Potter spoke to Tom Hermann who works for ADOT. He said they cannot be too specific at this time since there are too many variable factors.
The weather has a lot to do with it. Rain, delays work scheduled at the time and also for an undetermined period after that.
Heavy equipment cannot be used if the ground is too muddy. Concrete for new travel lanes also needs dry ground to set properly. As soon as ADOT has a date, they will be excited to share it.
