TUCSON – The intersection at Campbell Avenue and Allen Road is What’s Driving this News 4 Tucson viewer crazy.
Marilyn said a new building was recently added to the Arizona Cancer Center.
“When the light changes, three lanes of traffic turn into two lanes of road,” she said. “(This is) very bad traffic plan.”
At the end of the workday, more drivers are leaving the hospital, which means more traffic.
Tucson Department of Transportation said westbound Allen Road has a dual left turn that’s a flashing yellow arrow. There is a sign that said “Left turn yield on flashing yellow arrow.” Eastbound Allen Road has very light movement. So there is a flashing red ball instead of a green ball. The flashing red ball indicates to drivers that they must stop and then proceed after a stop, only if it is safe to do so.
If traffic is turning left on a flashing yellow arrow, it will not be safe to proceed.
