TUCSON– The intersection at Kolb Road and Valencia Road has been driving this viewer crazy for years.
Michael wrote to News 4 Tucson and says, “The stretch on Valencia between Wilmot and Kolb is HORRIBLE.”
He told News 4 Tucson’s Allie Potter, he gets really excited when he sees traffic cones but it ends up being utility work.
Potter spoke with Michael Graham from the City of Tucson and he says to expect a lot of cones for the next year because construction is on the way.
Valencia/Wilmot to Kolb will increase traffic capacity and enhance safety. Graham says drivers will see improvements to the Valencia/Kolb intersection and indirect left turns. The project begins on July 23 and will take 12 months to complete.
A public open house will be held on the Valencia Road – Wilmot Road to Kolb Road project at the Pima Air and Space Museum on Wednesday, July 18 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
