ORO VALLEY– News 4 Tucson viewer, Pam wrote in with a question asking, “On my way to work, I see construction workers on La Cholla. What are they doing?”
Crews are relocating public utilities for a northwest side corridor in the works.
The plan is to have a four-lane pathway from Overton to Tangerine.
The construction area is mainly in Oro Valley. Town Engineer Paul Keesler says it has many regional benefits. It is an alternative to Thornydale in the west and La Canada/Oracle in the east.
The project is currently out for bid. Regional Transportation Authority hopes to have a contractor in place by September.
