“Cooler” start to the week but it won’t last long…

TUCSON - Some good news! There will be a slight "cool" down over the next couple of days but then more triple digit heat is possible by the end of the work week!

A trough digging into middle parts of the country will “cool” us off slightly today and tomorrow. Highs will only warm into the mid 90s but that’s still slightly above average for this time of year. Overnight lows will drop into the low to mid 60s so it will definitely feel fall-like in the mornings! The front bringing the "cooler" temperatures will also bring some gusty wind at times today through Tuesday.

It will be a hot start to October as highs warm back into the upper 90s and possibly low 100s. So far this year we’ve had 97 days above 100° and the record to beat is 99 days! Remember that heat is the number one weather-related cause of death in the country. • Today: Sunny, breezy and warm. High: 97°
