Scattered showers today with more record heat possible late week!

TUCSON - Another round of showers and storms are expected today and the biggest impacts continue to be heavy rain and flash flooding! Temperatures remain a few degrees below average, for a change, before warming back up into the triple digits by the end of the work week.

Stay weather AWARE this afternoon! Scattered storms are expected, once again, this afternoon and this will be our last decent opportunity across Southern Arizona to see some action. Tomorrow, thunderstorms will favor areas mainly to the south and east of Tucson and then the rest of the week, it's the White Mountains that have the best shot.

As we dry out, temperatures will also begin to climb back above average into the triple digits as dreaded high pressure returns to the Southwest. As a result, it's going to be hot for the holiday weekend.  There is an Excessive Heat Watch in effect Friday through Monday evening for Tucson, Ajo, Organ Pipe Cactus N.M., Sells, Green Valley, Marana, Vail, Picacho Peak State Park, Mammoth, and Safford
