Southern Arizona | We've Got You Covered

The monsoon numbers are in

TUCSON – September was kind to us for rain, but not kind enough to overcome a sizable deficit we were under for most of the monsoon.

Tucson wound up with 5.06″ of monsoon rain which is about 1″ shy of average. Below are the numbers for a handful of other cities and towns across southern Arizona.

Of note, most locations under performed when it came to rain. The exception was Sierra Vista where surplus monsoon rain was recorded.

Also of note is that of the past five years, four of the five have featured above average monsoon rain. 2019 was the first time since 2014 that below average precipitation has been recorded for the City of Tucson.

The monsoon runs from June 15 through September 30.
