Heavy rain early next week

TUCSON – Most stay dry today but as early as tomorrow night, moisture will begin to spread northward into the far Southwest from Hurricane Lorena. Widespread heavy rainfall by early next week!

  • Today: Dry, sunny and warm. High: 96°
  • Tonight: Mostly clear and comfortable. Low: 68°
  • Tomorrow: Most stay dry with a better chance for rain near the International Border (10%). High: 94°

Hurricane Lorena and Tropical Storm Mario are forecasted to move up the Western Coast of Baja California. We’re expecting moisture as early as Saturday night for areas to the south of Tucson near the International Border. Moisture will continue to spread northward by the end of the weekend and into early next week.

In addition to the tropical moisture, a low pressure system moving into the Southwest will provide enough lift to see widespread showers Monday into Tuesday. Even if the tropical systems remain hundreds of miles off shore, we could still see some heavy rainfall and flooding.
