TUCSON – Temperatures could be record-breaking this afternoon! Excessive Heat Warning in effect. LIMIT TIME OUTSIDE!
The record high is in jeopardy today! The forecasted high is 107° and that is the record for this day set back in 2015. For some, it will be even hotter, which is why we have an Excessive Heat Warning in effect today and tomorrow for valley locations including Tucson, Safford, Green Valley, Oro Valley, and Oracle. The Excessive Heat Warning will be extended until Friday evening for Western Pima County and Pinal County including Sells, Ajo, Casa Grande and Florence.
Temperatures on Thursday could climb to 108-110°, with the record standing at 110° in 2015. Be sure to limit your time outdoors the next few days, especially between 10 AM and 8 PM. Remember to also drink plenty of water throughout the day. If you’re thirsty, you are already dehydrated!
Moisture will slowly move back into Southern Arizona Thursday, Friday and into the weekend. Our chance for afternoon storms will increase slightly and temperatures will still be above average but not nearly as hot this weekend.
