Monsoon 2019 roars back for some

TUCSON – It didn’t rain for most of Tucson, but a severe storm impacted Marana and Oro Valley Wednesday evening.

Damaging winds knocked out power to thousands, flipped over a semi along I-10 in Marana and toppled large trees and power lines around 6pm Wednesday.

Tucson International airport picked up 0.18″ of rain from a thunderstorm which weakened before reaching the midtown area.

Storm chances will be on the decline through Saturday as temperatures climb due to high pressure moving overhead.

The area of high pressure is forecast to move back to the Four Corners by Sunday and beyond and storms will be back on the rise.
