Dust Storm Safety

TUCSON – We have a good chance for storms this afternoon and evening! The biggest impact will be damaging wind gusts but we could also see heavy rain and blowing dust.

This is a friendly reminder of what to do if you’re caught in a dust storm. First and foremost, remember to PULL ASIDE AND STAY ALIVE and do NOT attempt to drive in a dust storm!

  1. Pull off the road and put your car in park
  2. Turn off the lights immediately
  3. Take your foot off the brake and wait it out

Whenever we have a chance for storms in Southern Arizona, stay weather aware! You can do that by downloading our mobile weather app ahead of the storms and watching News 4 Tucson. Our app will send you severe weather alerts near YOU to keep you safe and up to date when we are not on the air.
