Daytime highs will drop to near-average this weekend

TUCSON – Expect gusty winds into this evening followed by less wind this weekend. Breezy conditions with winds between 10-25 mph and gusts as high as 35 mph will be possible.

Due to the gusty winds, critical fire conditions are possible through early this evening, especially for areas south and east of the Tucson Metro area. A Red Flag Warning, issued by the National Weather Service, is in effect and will expire at 8 p.m.

A low amplitude trough is moving through the Great Basin. Additionally a few weak disturbances will pass to our north this weekend. This will drop daytime highs to the upper 90s to low 100s  through early next week.

Saturday’s daytime high will reach 99 degrees under plenty of sunshine.

Dry conditions with average daytime temperatures will persist into the middle of next week.
