TUCSON – We hope you’re ready for the heat.
Today you can expect dry conditions, along with a rapid warming trend. Today’s forecast high in Tucson will peak at 95 degrees under abundant sunshine. Temperatures today will be 10-15 degrees warmer than the average for this time of year.
This warm up is courtesy of high pressure parked over the desert Southwest. This afternoon we could see the warmest temperatures we have seen so far this year.
Early next week, a weak weather system will pass through our area. This will not bring us any rain, but it will provide Southern Arizona with breezier conditions this weekend. On Saturday, winds could reach 25 mph in Tucson and wind gusts could reach 35 mph. The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch, which will be in effect Saturday afternoon. This is due to tomorrow’s low relative humidity and gusty winds.
