Big gains for the ongoing Arizona drought

TUCSON – After another month of above average rain and snow, the State of Arizona’s drought situation has improved even more.

19.1% of the state is considered abnormally dry – mainly extreme western and eastern parts of the state.

13.2% of the state is in moderate drought while only 5.5% is in the severe drought category.

Extreme and exceptional drought conditions has been completely eroded from the entire state.

According to Chief Meteorologist Matt Brode, the parts of the state which are still seeing drought conditions should see more precipitation in the next two weeks.
