Flood Warning issued Southwestern Cochise County

The National Weather Service in Tucson issued a Flood Warning for Southwestern Cochise County.

The warning is in effect until 5:45 p.m. Thursday.

Some of the locations that will experience flooding include, Sierra Vista, Hereford, Palominas, Fairbank and Charleston, according to the National Weather Service.

This includes the following highways:
Route 82 between mile markers 60 and 63.
Route 90 between mile markers 327 and 330.
Route 92 between mile markers 338 and 343.

A river gauge on the San Pedro River at Palominas indicates flooding ongoing with a current river stage of 15.59 feet.

The latest forecasts indicate that the San Pedro River at Palominas will reach moderate flood stage of 17 feet at around 2 p.m. before slowly receding.

Moderate flood stage results in the Hereford bridge approaching flood along with flooding in adjacent low-lying areas.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
