Cyclist gets back on the bike after getting hit by a car

TUCSON – The 37th Annual El Tour de Tucson is a place that holds special meaning for some cyclists.

News 4 Tucson spoke with one on Friday, November 22 who overcame a major injury.

Back in September 2018, Mark Luety was preparing for El Tour de Tucson when he was hit on Broadway Blvd.

Luety said he was taken to Banner UMC where they found he had multiple skull fractures and a collapsed lung.

After months of rehab, Luety told New 4 Tucson he will once again be taking part in this years race and wants to remind everyone never to give up.
