TUCSON – Tucson Police Department has launched a homicide investigation after two men were found dead at a midtown residence early Wednesday morning.
According to Tucson Police Department, two men, later identified as 18-year-old Corey Teixeira and 18-year–old Ali Mohamed, were found with obvious signs of gunshot trauma at the backside of a home in the 4700 block of East Duncan St. shortly after 3:45 a.m.
After further investigation, police learned that the female resident of the home was awoken by a noise at the rear door of her residence on Wednesday morning. Police say after she found the two men allegedly forcing entry into the home, a confrontation ensued between the resident and the men.
According to police the resident, who was armed with a handgun, shot both of the men. The resident then alerted a neighbor about the incident and called 911.
Police say the woman was not injured in the incident.
TPD said at this time, the attempted break-in does not appear to be a random act. Authorities said detectives suspect that the two men specifically targeted the home.
Police said the case appears to be narcotics-related.
