Social media threat leads to extra security at Tortolita Middle School

TUCSON – A social media threat prompted additional police presence at Tortolita Middle School on Tuesday.

According to Marana Unified School District, Pima County Sheriff’s Department did not find the messages as a credible threat.

Police encourage students to share any information they may have.

The following letter was sent to parents by Tortolita Middle School’s principal.
