UA’s Ira Lee agrees to spend five days in jail in DUI plea deal

TUCSON – Arizona men’s basketball forward Ira Lee will spend five days in jail in connection to his DUI arrest in August, according to court documents.

On Aug. 19, University of Arizona Police Department arrested Lee near Sixth Street and Warren Avenue and was charged with failing to yield at an intersection and underage driving after drinking were among the charges. Court documents say the UA sophomore was cited a super-extreme DUI for registering a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.20 or higher.

Authorities say Lee took a plea agreement in connection to the incident, which was filed Dec. 6. Lee will be booked in Pima County Jail from Sunday, Dec. 23 through Thursday, Dec. 27, as part of the agreement. He also must pay $1,492 in fines and fees, use an ignition interlock device for 12 months and complete a traffic survival school course.
