TUCSON - For the second straight night an undefeated went down in Tucson.

Cody Blumenthal scored ten points in the 4th quarter Tuesday night to lead 4th ranked Catalina Foothills to a 70-67 win over No. 3 and previously unbeaten Salpointe Catholic.

Sabino handed Sahuaro their first loss of the season on the girls' side Monday night.

The Lancers and Falcons has become must see hoops in the last three years. It began with the now legendary buzzer-beater by Isaac Cruz in the 2017 Conference 4A state semifinal game. That win ended a nine-game Salpointe Catholic losing streak in the series and coming into Tuesday night the two programs had split their last eight meetings.

Will Menaugh finished the game with 17 points for Catalina Foothills (17-1). The win was the seventh straight overall for the Falcons since suffering their lone loss of the season to Mt. Si from suburban Seattle in the Max Preps Holiday Classic on December 26.

Foothills and Lancers will square off again at Salpointe Catholic on February 7.
