College offers piling up for Lancers’ Miller

TUCSON – And the Friday Football Fever Week 7 Tucson Roadrunners Player of the Week award goes to Salpointe Catholic’s Jonah Miller.

A month ago when Miller’s teammate Bijan Robinson won the honor after a 430-yard rushing performance against Desert Edge, the tailback raved about the job his offensive line was doing for him in the early part of the season.

Robinson in back-to-back games has surpassed Ka’deem Carey as the all-time leading rusher in Southern Arizona and Mark Thomas as the top career rusher in the state who played at a Conference 4A school or higher.

Many of those runs thru the first five games of the 2019 season have been cleared by the 6’6, 295-pound Miller.

The junior right guard is currently rated as a 4-star recruit and #5 overall prospect in Arizona for the Class of 2021.

Miller has 14 collegiate offers including the Arizona Wildcats, ASU Sun Devils and six other Pac-12 schools. Arizona State was the first Pac-12 school to offer him almost a year ago.

Robinson is headed to Texas and they are also hot on Miller.

He has taken unofficial visits to several schools including Texas for the Longhorns Spring Game as well as Oregon and most recently USC.
