Man wanted in fatal stabbing on west side arrested in Globe, Ariz.

TUCSON (KVOA) - The man wanted in connection to Sunday's fatal stabbing on Tucson's west side was identified and taken into custody Monday evening in Globe, Ariz.

Early Monday, Tucson Police Department shared that a felony arrest warrant was issued for 34-year-old Bruce Fairbanks Spring after a woman, later identified as 21-year-old Nicole Collins, was found with "numerous lacerations and stab wounds" at the Terrace Motel at 631 W. Miracle Mile just after 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. According to TPD, Collins died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Shortly after the announcement for Spring's arrest, Gila County Sheriff’s
Department, Globe Police Department and Arizona Department of Public Safety located the 34-year-old at around 3:30 p.m. Monday in Globe, Ariz.

Officials say Spring was apprehended after a short pursuit.

Spring is currently awaiting extradition to Pima County in Gila County Jail.
