TUCSON (KVOA) – It’s Giving Tuesday, which means it’s the Black Friday of charity.

Local organizations continue to give back to Southern Arizonans.

Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to build affordable homes.

“There’s never been more of an important time for a safe home,” said Laura Sanchez with Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat for Humanity is currently building 21 homes.

On the other hand, a popular organization in our community continues to spread kindness on the regular basis.

You might have heard of Ben’s Bells. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the organization is giving out “Teacher Kits.” The kits include masks and stationery supplies to help them get through this year.

Ben’s Bells believes teachers have been heroes this year.

“So, the one thing that we’re really trying to focus on right now and has kind of been our theme all year, since all of this has been going on, is just to remember how important kindness is,” said Helen Gomez with Ben's Bells. “And, our theme is kindness connects this year. And I think, gosh, it’s so crucial right now.”
