Colorado wildfire destroys dozens of homes

(KUSA/NBC News)  A wildfire in Boulder County, Colorado that has forced thousands of evacuations had grown to 8,788 acres and was at 15 percent containment as of Sunday evening, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said. 

At least 26 structures have been damaged by the fier. 

The Calwood Fire is the largest in Boulder County history. 

Close to 3,000 people in about 1,600 homes were affected by evacuation orders, including the entire town of Jamestown.

Sheriff's office officials said it's likely that more than the 26 homes identified have been lost to the fire, but crews have been unable to assess the full damage to get an exact figure.
