TUCSON (KVOA) - Some folks are jumping for joy that Downtown Tucson is in the works of reopening.
The Downtown Merchants Association paired with the Downtown Tucson Partnership and the Pima County Health Department to put a plan in place for a Grand Reopening of businesses in the downtown core, as early as Oct. 1.
As early as next month, downtown Tucson businesses will reopen while marking health and safety as their priority. Each business displaying the Ready for You emblem has demonstrated to Pima County Health inspectors that they are compliant with the safety standards required for a safe reopening.
The full list of those standards are available at pimaready.com.
Tucson Police Department personnel were recommended to stop by downtown businesses to conduct site inspections, but Tucson council members believe this may be a poor use of TPD’s resources. Moreover, the inspection and compliance work has already been completed by Pima County Health and the downtown merchants themselves.
Shoppers, customers and parishioners are welcome to access their favorite shops, restaurants and bars, as early as next month.
Feel free to support your preferred business at the grand reopening.
Don’t worry, safety measures are being implemented, just look for the Ready for You emblem displayed at participating businesses.
