Tucson Go Red for Women Luncheon goes digital

TUCSON (KVOA) - The American Heart Association is scheduled to host a digital Tucson Go Red for Women® Luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 24. The event will support the fight to end heart disease and stroke in women.

The association said in a press release Wednesday, it has been working to provide reliable, science-based information for the approximately 120 million people in the United States who currently have one or more cardiovascular conditions and who already may be at higher risk for COVID-19 complications. It said that is vital for women, as 48% of women in the United States age 20 and up have some form of cardiovascular disease.1

For those living with heart disease or having survived a stroke, preventing the virus is key. The association suggests looking out for the following warning signs:

The event is scheduled to be held on Thursday, September 24th as a free digital experience. Registered attendees will be asked to wear red and join other Go Red for Women supporters online. The event will feature inspiring survivor stories. The public is invited to the free event and can register for the Zoom webinar here.
