Man killed, 2 others injured in shooting on southwest side

TUCSON (KVOA) - One person has died and two others were injured during a shooting that occurred on the southwest side Monday evening.

According to Tucson Police Department, its officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Ajo Way near Freedom Drive in reference to a shooting.

When the officers arrived at the scene, the discovered that three men were shot in connection to the incident, and all three were transported to the hospital.

One of the individuals shot in the incident succumbed to his injuries shortly arriving at the hospital. One of the other men sustained serious injuries in the shooting. The third individual who was reportedly shot was treated for serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

According to TPD, a shooting suspect was apprehended and is currently in custody.

The person who succumbed to his injuries will be identified once his family is informed of his passing.
