TFD: 8 displaced after apartment fire on Tucson’s west side

TUCSON – Eight residents were displaced after a two-alarm apartment fire Friday on Tucson’s west side.

Tucson Fire Department crews were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Prince Road after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting smoke and flames coming from the complex.

Officials say crews were able to assist a disabled man with rapid evacuation. Evacuees were moved to a Sun Tran bus for temporary shelter.

The Red Cross will be assisting the eight residents that were displaced.

The fire was under control in 25 minutes, TFD says.

No injuries were reported.

The cause and origin of the fire are still under investigation.
