Border Patrol agents arrest repeat smuggling offender

TUCSON – Border Patrol agents found 17 pounds of suspected fentanyl in a vehicle on Highway 78 on Tuesday.

A dog found an odor, and the vehicle was sent to secondary inspection around 5:30 p.m.

The driver was a 29-year-old United States citizen from Tolleson. He was previously convicted of smuggling 22 pounds of cocaine.

He was with a 32-year-old woman who is also a citizen.
