TUCSON (KVOA) - A New York cult leader sentenced to more than a century in prison has been transferred to a federal prison in Tucson.
Keith Raniere, 60, was sentenced to 120 years in prison. He was convicted on sex trafficking, racketeering and possession of child pornography in 2019.
He is the founder of the sex cult called NXIVM (pronounced Nexium), a group that kept women as virtual sex prisoners to service him in upstate New York.
Last year, the cult was featured on a 9-part HBO documentary series called "The Vow".
