TUCSON – The 25th Annual Parade of Lights will soon brighten up Downtown Tucson.
On Nov. 30, the event will kick off five weeks of holiday festivities.
Festivities in Jacome Plaza include:
- Live entertainment from 4:30 to 9 p.m.
- The Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 p.m.
- The Parade of Lights at 6:30 p.m.
Downtown will be decorated with thousands of lights, and free streetcar rides will be available all day.
As a sponsor, Mister Car Wash will be supporting the event, as well as, providing dozens of volunteers to help with parade events and controlling the crowds.
Parade participants are to submit all entries by Nov. 8. All participants are required to use lights, while a panel of judges will award five prizes based on, “beauty, creativity and use of lights.”
According to a news release, about 60 buildings will be decorated and lit up, 150 street trees will be tightly wrapped with lights and dozens of storefronts will be decorated along with hundreds of events, programs and specials.
The annual Parade of Lights & Festival is the kickoff event for Downtown Tucson Partnership’s five-week holiday promotion, Desert Nights Downtown Lights.
