UA professor breaks down US-China feud in forum

TUCSON – A professor from the University of Arizona is looking at patterns of the past between the United States and China. He believes that the similarities stem from the idea of foreign and cultural threats.

“I think the important lesson is not to demonetize our rivals, but to engage them at a level of reality, not the level of stereotypes,” historian Michael Schaller said.

In order to get a better understanding of the theory and how this could help the United States and China’s relations.

The presentation was followed by a discussion between speakers and audience members.
