TUCSON – Pima Animal Care Center urgently seeks fosters and adopters to help make space for incoming pets.

The shelter says the number of dogs and cats living there has reached its busiest time of year, with 435 dogs and 233 cats on site.

“We urgently need the community’s help to get pets out now,” said Director of Animal Services, Kristen Hassen-Auerbach. “Most every pet is eligible for foster and even fostering for two weeks gives us time to make much-needed space for incoming cats and dogs who need our help.”

If you are interested in helping, you can email  PACC.foster@pima.gov.

PACC is offering $5 adoptions for all pets four months and up until Oct. 17. There is a $20 licensing fee per dog.

All pets adopted from PACC will come spayed or neutered, with age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip and a free vet visit. PACC is open Monday through Friday, noon-7 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends.
