TUCSON – On a day dedicated to those lost in the attacks of September 11, The Rotary Club of Tucson made sure the work first responders do does not go unnoticed.
First responders were invited to the Doubletree hotel for an event in their honor. Tucson Police chief Chris Magnus, Pima County Sheriff Mark Napier and Davis-Monthan Fire Chief Todd Canale were some of the people invited to come speak at the event.
They shared stories of their experiences as first responders and discussed how 9/11 had an impact on the work they do.
Marana Police Officer Dan Rowan was a New York City Firefighter who responded to the attacks on 9/11. He was unable to attend today’s event but made a video message recounting his personal experiences.
