DPS trooper arrested for incidents of sexual assault during traffic stop

PHOENIX – An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper was taken into custody Tuesday after he allegedly committed an act of sexual assault against a woman during a traffic stop last June.

According to DPS, 43-year-old Tremaine Jackson was arrested after DPS received a complaint that reported that the trooper allegedly sexually assaulted a woman during a traffic stop. After investigation, DPS uncovered more people who claim to be sexually assaulted by the 13-year veteran.

Jackson was charged with the following

  • Sexual Abuse; Two Counts
  •  Attempted Sexual Abuse; Two Counts
  • Attempted Sexual Assault; One Count
  • Sexual Extortion; Two Counts
  • Sexual Extortion; Two Counts
  • Unlawful Sexual Conduct; Peace Officers; Four Counts
  • Unlawful Imprisonment; Eight Counts
  • Kidnapping; Eight Counts
  • Harassment; Four Counts
  • Forgery; Eight Counts
  • Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices; Five Counts
  • Fraudulent Schemes and Practices; Willful Concealment; Seven Counts       
  • Tampering with a Public Record; Eight Counts

Authorities said Jackson was placed on administrative leave at the beginning of the investigation.
