Man displaced after fire near home in central Tucson

Smoke from a fire in the front yard of a home in the 3600 block of N Park Ave.

TUCSON- A man in his 70s is displaced after a fire damaged his home near midtown.

The Tucson Fire Department responded to calls of heavy smoke in the 3600 block of North Park Avenue Tuesday afternoon  When crews arrived they began to pull hoses to extinguish flames in the front yard of the home.

It was determined the objects on fire in the front yard were sculptures and various artistic works.

Firefighters attempted to stop the flames from getting into the residence, but the extreme heat from the flames damaged the exterior of the home. Smoke from the fire caused damage inside the home. The home was condemned due to the damage.

The fire was determined under control after approximately 20 minutes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
