$50,000 donated to veterans for Purple Heart Day

TUCSON – In honor of Purple Heart Day, the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 442 donated $50,000 to local veteran service organizations.

Some of the money will go towards an emergency fund for veteran’s that need it in a moments notice.

“We are so proud that we are able to help veterans and it keeps us going,” said Mike Dyer, Commander of The Military Order of the Purple Hear Chapter 442.

The money was raised during the Purple Heart Golf Tournament.

The chapter has raised $350,000 over the past five years for veterans.
