Man convicted for killing sister’s ex-boyfriend gets 20 years in prison

TUCSON – The man convicted for killing his sister’s ex-boyfriend was sentenced to 20 years in prison Monday afternoon.

Back in 2018, the body of Mark Garrity was found near Country Club and Glenn roads. After further investigation, police arrested Vincent Detwiler in San Bernardino, Calif. in connection to the incident. Officials say Detwiler reportedly shot Garrity in the head.

Police say Detwiler was identified as the brother of a woman who was in a relationship with the victim.

Detwiler was later found guilty for second-degree murder.
