Tucson man sentenced to life in prison in girlfriend’s death

TUCSON – A man was sentenced Friday morning to natural life in the killing of his girlfriend in 2017.

On June 11, Mario Jesus Dorame was found guilty of killing Maria Dolores Escobedo.

Dorame was convicted of first-degree murder, unlawful imprisonment, tampering with evidence and concealing a body.

Back in 2017, Dorame was taken into custody by Tucson Police Department one month after his girlfriend, Maria Escobedo was found dead by a family member at his home in the 5500 block of South Tyndall Avenue.
