TUCSON – Ahead of the Fourth of July festivities, Pima Animal Care Center will be hosting a free microchip clinic.

The shelter says pets are often frightened by July 4th fireworks and run away.

Last year, PACC took in 416 pets the week after the July 4.

The clinic will from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. from June 16 through July 3, at 4000 N. Silverbell Rd.

PACC says that during the drive-through clinic, dogs should still be on leashes and cats should be in carriers.
