Another pipe bomb found at northwest home where teen was fatally shot

TUCSON – Days after a 17-year-old died from accidentally being shot by an AK-47 at a home on the northwest side. Crews working the scene discovered another pipe bomb, officials confirmed.

Crews were at the scene Wednesday morning cleaning up the home when they spotted a suspicious device behind a television stand. Pima Regional Bomb Squad and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives were on scene to help remove the item. ATF will now take over the investigation.

According to PCSD, the 19-year-old male accidentally discharged an AK-47 striking and killing a 17-year-old male on the other side of a wall.

The 19-year-old male is a relative to the victim and as of now, will not be charged for the death.

During the investigation, detectives discovered and successfully removed various weapons and pipe bombs from the home.
