Near drowning of 2-year-old reported in Rita Ranch

TUCSON – A 2-year-old was rescued after he was involved in a near drowning at a southeast side home Tuesday afternoon.

According to officials, Tucson Fire Department received a report at around 3:30 p.m. about a 2-year-old falling into a spa in the 9200 block of East La Palma Drive in Rita Ranch. The child is said to be breathing, alert and conscious, according to TFD.

Authorities say a family member immediately administered CPR on the child after he reportedly fell in.

The child was transported to a hospital as an extra precaution, TFD reported.
