TUCSON – A new facility aimed at helping the homeless get off the streets and back on their feet opened up Monday.
The H.S. Lopez Family Foundation Center of Opportunity moved into the old Holiday Inn near Irvington and Palo Verde roads.
The building has been transformed into a shelter that offers services from long-term recovery programs, job training to veteran services. The shelter will provide more than 300 shelter beds and 1,000 meals served a day.
Anyone is welcome at the shelter for services like showers, clothing, flu shots or shelter.
The facility is open to the public and is located at 4550 S. Palo Verde Road.
