Jury selection underway for Tucson man accused of killing girlfriend

TUCSON – Prosecutors and defense attorneys have begun jury selection for the trial of Tucson man accused of killing his girlfriend in 2017.

Back in 2017, Mario Jesus Dorame was taken into custody by Tucson Police Department one month after his girlfriend, Maria Escobedo was found dead by a family member at his home in the 5500 block of South Tyndall Avenue. Dorame was charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and the abandonment or concealment of a body.
