The Arizona DUI Task Force cracked down on drunk drivers over Memorial Day Weekend.
The Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety released new statistics from this year’s DUI Enforcement.
There were 503 DUI arrests made statewide between May 24 and May 27, according to the report.
That’s an increase from 2018 numbers. Data shows there were 483 arrests made over Memorial Day Weekend in 2018.
Of those arrested this year, 109 people are facing Extreme DUI charges. This means the driver had a blood alcohol content of .15 or higher.
The DUI Task Force is comprised of law enforcement personnel from several agencies and volunteers.Their goal is to get drunk drivers off the road and protect other travelers.
