Mountain lion caught lounging on residential patio on north side

TUCSON – A mountain lion was spotted lounging on a patio of a north side residence Sunday.

According to Arizona Game and Fish Department, the cougar was spotted hanging out in a residential area West of Sabino Canyon that day. Authorities say the lion left the area without action by AZFD personnel.

Officials say this is the fifth mountain lion spotted by a resident since December.

According to the department, anyone who encounters a mountain lion is advised to call 623-236-7201. They should then “try to scare if away by standing tall, maintaining direct eye contact, waving your arms and yelling. “
