The Arizona Department of Public Safety received a grant to help enforce the use of seat belts on Arizona roads.
The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety awarded DPS with a $10,000 grant. The money will be used to pay for overtime and other expenses during the Buckle Up Arizona Enforcement Campaign.
DPS troopers have investigated 127 deadly crashes on Arizona Highways since January. Records show 45 people have died because they weren’t properly restrained or using a seat belt at all.
The Buckle Up Arizona Enforcement Campaign runs from May 20 through June 2.
