TUCSON – A prescribed burn is being held on Mica Mountains in the Saguaro Wilderness of the Rincon Mountain District near Saguaro National Park East starting Tuesday.
According to officials, about 541 acres of land may be treated in reference to the controlled burn. Authorities expect the fire to last until Thursday.
National Park Service officials say smoke from the fire may be visible from Tucson, Redington Pass, Benson, Mescal and Happy Valley.
The fire is said to limit the availability of Manning Camp campgrounds.
