Crime Trackers: Man accused of taking upskirt photos sought by Sahuarita police

SAHUARITA, Ariz. – Sahuarita Police Department needs the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly used his cell phone to take photographs underneath a women’s dress.

The incident happened on May 7 at the Fry’s Grocery Store in Sahuarita.

Sgt. Mike Falquez said the 35-year-old victim was shopping when she felt something brush against the back of her leg. She told the officers the man was acting suspiciously.

The man was described as an African-American who is six feet tall, weighs 180 pounds, and has black hair and black eyes.

Falquez said surveillance cameras inside the grocery store showed he had a cell phone in his hand when he approached the victim.

However, it is not known if he took pictures or video. The man could be charged with voyeurism a felony if evidence is found showing that he did.

Falquez said if the allegations are true, then people like this need to be removed from the streets. He said it is inappropriate. He said people should be able to go to the grocery store and shop, and not be violated, especially sexually.

News 4 Tucson spoke with some shoppers. They said they were shocked to hear about the incident.

Kay said the man was despicable, gross and he needed to be found.

Patricia said it is absolutely awful and ridiculous.
