Fire districts team up to create pediatric assessment tool

TUCSON – Local firefighters are working to treat younger patients more efficiently.

Golder Ranch Fire District and Northwest Fire District are instituting a new assessment tool to treat pediatric patients.

It’s known as the Handtevy Pediatric Emergency Standards.

This tool will help crews better assess the situation before they even arrive on scene.

Firefighters will train throughout April and May.
